Workshop Café – Student Reflections & Perspectives
A broader reflection of a number of courses, or of the student advice and support that is given by several teaching staff
members as a whole, can be done by a method which the Angewandte has developed across several pilot projects. In a discussion
that lasts several hours and is held separate from the teaching environment, students address their experiences and concerns
about the practical implementation of teaching based on the curriculum of their course of studies. A workshop Café is particularly
recommended for the evaluation of the central artistic subject.
The discussion will be set up by the Unit for Quality Enhancement upon request, and the results will be made available by
them in a written report. The Unit for Quality Enhancement advises on the design of the questions to students as well as on
how to deal with the results.
More information about this form of reflection on teaching and student experiences can be found in the guidance document that
is available for download.
Artistic or scientific departments, committees in charge of a study programme, or curriculum committees who are interested
in this matter can turn to the Unit for Quality Enhancement who will enter into a dialogue with them regarding implementation
and support.
