Quality Enhancement

The Angewandte sees itself as a learning organization that is constantly developing dynamically through the commitment of all its members. Essential for this is an organizational culture within which self-assurance about the achievement of strategic goals as well as continuous reflection on actions in all areas are linked to a readiness to change. The Vision 2030 projects a university that is highly transformable and thus able to develop into a globally recognized center of competence for artistic and scientific research which will accompany and help to shape the radical societal change.
In this endeavor, quality at the Angewandte and its ongoing enhancement is supported through a quality culture that is actively carried and evolved by all members working in the areas of teaching, research, planning, service and administration.

To support and ensure ongoing reflection, both fixed instruments and flexible formats are used within the university structures which allow especially for qualitative, occasion-relevant considerations geared towards participation and quick reaction. The guidelines set out in the development plan create an overarching framework for university development and quality enhancement which is jointly supported by rectorate, senate and university council, representing a point of reference for all planning, implementation and reflection processes.

The rectorate works actively as a central platform to advance university development and quality enhancement. The individual vice-rectorates are responsible for quality enhancement in their respective range of tasks within the university, in close cooperation with the artistic and scientific institutes and departments as well as the areas of planning, strategy and administration. The Unit for Quality Enhancement supports university members in regular and flexible processes of self-reflection and forms the competence center of the Angewandte for monitoring and evaluation issues.
