In October 2025, the conference What is Infrastructural Critique? took place in celebration of the life and work of Marina Vishmidt at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. The conference featured artists, critical theorists and collaborators with Marina, who came together to think through her concept of infrastructural critique, a materialist approach to the infrastructures of contemporary art oriented towards aesthetics and political struggle in all of its interconnected modes and scales. On 26 February 2026, Jakob Lena Knebl and Ashley Hans Scheirl were awarded the 2026 Oskar Kokoschka Prize in a ceremony at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Natalia Gurova received the Miriam Cahn Scholarship.

Call for Angewandte-Alumni: The public art universities, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Science, have initiated the ‘A4 – Austrian Art Alumni Award’ programme, which enables the awarding of one scholarship per year to six individuals with an excellent academic background across all universities. The aim is to support particularly outstanding graduates of art universities as they embark on their artistic careers, thereby promoting Austria's standing in the world of art and culture.
