Alumni
The Angewandte surveys its graduates at two points in time: ongoingly at study completion at the intersection between studies
and working life, plus four to six years after the graduates’ entry into their professional lives. The Angewandte thus has
a monitoring system in place concerning its graduates, as well as data on alumni satisfaction with the completed studies at
its disposal.
Both surveys and their analyses are based on the methodological options available to a small university with comparatively
low numbers of graduates. In order to make meaningful and sound evidence available, the strategy of jointly analyzing the
data from both surveys and systematically presenting them in a comprehensive alumni report every three years has proven itself. At
the same time, this creates an alignment with the three-year cycles of the development plan and the performance agreement.
The alumni report is forwarded to the rectorate, the senate and all curriculum committees so that the contained evidence can
be incorporated in the decision-making basis of these committees and organizational units. In addition, special analyses are
carried out for individual curriculum committees to provide them with a valuable source of information for reflections on
the levels of curricula design and teaching assignments.
The Angewandte Alumni Reports are available in German language via the links in the Downloadbox.
In the interest of gaining deeper insights into career paths and forms of employment of graduates, the Angewandte also participates
in the Austria-wide and cross-university project ATRACK which deals with the labour market integration and career paths of
university graduates on the basis of official data.
