Over the last twenty years, economic criteria and considerations have
become increasingly important in the entire field of exhibitions and have had an impact on forms of organisation. In many
places, the practical question now arises as to what concrete, practical consequences the criticism of the economisation of
public institutions could have in these institutions themselves: How can museums and exhibition organisations be organised
differently? And how do they want to work differently?
The publication brings together contributions from theory
and practice: they reflect on organisational structures and working conditions, formulate proposals, and do not want to resign
themselves to thinking critically and acting uncritically.
