After last year’s
successful exhibition experiment, Atelier Machensachen once again invites all artists – with or without previous exhibition
experience – to take part in a collective exhibition. As the machensachen studio project itself is currently undergoing a
phase of restructuring, with no certainty about how or whether it will continue – and since life itself is a never- ending
construction site – we’ve been asking ourselves: What do artistic processes actually look like? And when is a work truly finished?
UNFINISHED – on making and failing
Maybe you have something lying around. Something started
and left unfinished: a sketch, a text fragment, a draft, or an idea that never grew. Or a piece that’s technically complete
– but something about it is still holding you back. Not good enough? Not perfect? For the exhibition
UNFINISHED,
it’s definitely finished enough.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? WHAT CAN BE SUBMITTED?Everyone – regardless
of experience, medium, language, origin, age, gender, or education. Whether you’re submitting a piece that never received
its “final touch,” or you're consciously presenting a work in its current intermediate state – we welcome your construction
site. Painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, text, sound, performance, video or other media – Anything that
is unfinished (or declared as such) is welcome.
