The Ö1 Talent Scholarship for Fine Arts, endowed with 10,000 euros,
is being offered by Ö1 for the sixteenth time this year. The prize is intended to promote young talent among students studying
at one of the following five universities: University of Applied Arts Vienna, Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, University of Fine
Arts Linz, Mozarteum University Salzburg, University of Fine Arts Graz.
Eligibility
Criteria
The scholarship is open to all students of the above-listed art universities who meet the following
criteria by the submission deadline.
Talent Scholarship for Visual Arts 2025:
•
Applicants must be enrolled as regular students at one of the aforementioned art universities.
• Applicants must
be in the second phase of their studies (according to the old curriculum) or in the final stage of their Bachelor’s or Master’s
degree.
• Students receiving one or more scholarships amounting to over €3,000 per year at the time of submission
are excluded from the Ö1 Talent Scholarship for Visual Arts (except for government study grants).
• Students participating
in a mobility program (ERASMUS, Joint Study, etc.) in Austria are excluded from participation.
Submission
and Deadline
The submission period for the Ö1 Talent Scholarship for Visual Arts 2025 begins on March 17,
2025, and ends on April 25, 2025.
Submitted works must be submitted digitally to the internal submission
addresses published by the five art universities as listed on their respective notice boards. The submitted materials must
be marked with the note »Ö1 Talent Scholarship for Visual Arts 2025.«
Publication
The
Ö1 Talent Scholarship for Visual Arts 2025 will be announced via:
• Notices at the above-mentioned art universities
(including institutes) by the relevant university departments.
• Publication on the website or through newsletters
of the five art universities, on oe1.ORF.at, as well as on the website of Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein.
Application
Documents
The application must include:
• A completed and signed application form. The form (PDF
format) can be obtained from the website/newsletter of the respective art university.
• Portfolio of works (15 to
30 pages). Color photos or video stills of three works to be submitted to the jury. These must include »Jury« in the file
name. The resolution of photos or stills must be 300 dpi, format:
.jpg or .tif. Accompanying texts should describe
the works in detail. Videos and video documentation are an important addition. Film, video, and sound works must be uploaded
to
www.vimeo.com or
www.youtube.com (accessible without
password). The links must be provided in the description of each work.

APPLICATION:
by April 25, 2025
A PDF file with the following content (all texts must be in German, according to
current German spelling rules):
• Biographical information (photo, education, and details of previous artistic activities
such as exhibitions, study trips, participation in competitions, etc.), as outlined in the application form.
• A
brief commentary on the applicant's artistic work (max. 500 characters, including spaces).
• Information on planned
work during the scholarship period (max. 500 characters, including spaces).
• IBrief descriptions of the three works
being submitted. Each description may be up to 500 characters (including spaces). A small photo/video still of the work and
the following details must be included:
title, material, format, year of creation.
• To provide a comprehensive
picture of the applicant's artistic activities, additional photos and descriptions of other works must be included.
•
Confirmation of the second study phase (first diploma exam certificate).
• Proof of enrollment at the university.
Only
applications with complete information and documents that meet the above criteria will be considered.In the event of false
information or misleading the jury, the Ö1 Talent Scholarship will be revoked and any payments already made must be refunded.
