Olga Neuwirth: Coronation I-VI
AIL in kooperation with Wien Modern
In a kind of defiant self-assurance, Olga Neuwirth composed the series coronAtion against the backdrop of 249 days
of the Corona pandemic concert ban. Wien Modern, together with the Angewandte, the MAK and the mdw, is bringing all six parts
completely live to the stage for the first time. Number IV, an immersive, hypnotic space music for three percussionists and
samples, will be performed for the first time in its full length of 19 x 31 minutes (although a short visit is of course just
as possible as binge listening). Numbers I and III will be heard at the start, V at half-time, and II and VI at hourly intervals.
