An
event organised by TransArts - Transdisciplinary Art"Zink reinterprets the theme of staged photography
in his works. On the one hand he gives the viewer the feeling of having witnessed this ‚fleeting‘ moment only by chance. On
the other hand he re-stages subjects as objects and vice versa. Marko Zink photographs exclusively in analog with cooked film;
he describes the resulting decay of the negatives as a deliberate conceptual insertion. With this concept he shows the proximity
of photography to painting and film and opens up its boundaries." (from the text by Maria Magdalena Pressel)
Marko Zink born in 1975 in Gaschurn in Austria, received lessons from
Ingo Springenschmid and then attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna; the master classes for art and photography, extended
painterly space, art in public space, and performance with Eva Schlegel, Josephine Pryde, Franz Graf, Judith Huemer, Mona
Hahn, and Matthias Herrmann.
He graduated from the School of Artistic Photography with Friedl Kubelka and from the
Academy of Fine Arts
in Vienna with Carola Derting. He also studied German language and literature, journalism and
art history at the University of Vienna.
