Stefanie Koemeda


studied Art & Science (Virgil Widrich) and graduated in 2016. She since works as a sculptor. In 2019 she founded TONHALLE - an open ceramics studio in Vienna - where she currently works on her projects. The topic of her latest works evolves around the investigation of the materiality and qualities of our societiy's physical output.

STEFANIE KOEMEDA in TONHALLE
Stefanie Koemeda founded TONHALLE in 2019 as an open ceramics workshop and also uses it for her own productions. Her preferred technique is slab building but she also works with non-ceramic materials.

The workshop is equipped with all essential tools needed for standard ceramic processes. There are six throwing wheels, workbenches, firing kilns, and a spray cabin.


During the opening hours the workshop is used by independently working artists, designers and hobby ceramicists. There are courses for different ceramic teqniques such as throwing, pouring porcellain, slab building and glazing. During the rest of the week Stefanie Koemeda and 4 other artists use the space for their own works. The other artists are Julia Geiszler, Hannes Rachbauer, Julia Belova and Julia Rublow.
