This is the third and final volume of a series reflecting
the topics and projects developed within studio díazmoreno garcíagrinda, directed by Cristina Díaz Moreno and Efrén García
Grinda at the Institute of Architecture at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, between 2019–2024.
A Compendium
of Alternative Worlds from Studio Díazmoreno Garcíagrinda is a collection of projects developed by the students and reflects
themes and methods used within the studio across various briefs over the years. It deals with design methods and creativity
applied to the design of artificial environments. The book is largely a compendium of reflections on how to conceive the design
of buildings, landscapes, and cities, and all other kinds of spaces and environments in a way that is consistent with the
challenges of this era, as well as on the complicated task of initiating an educating others in this challenge. The material
is presented in the form of projects, statements and texts from an academic environment. However, the works do not emerge
directly from academia alone, but from the constant back and forth between the processes involved in the education of new
designers and academic research, and the field of design and construction of spaces in the real world.
