Cultural policy is orientated towards the values of democratic coexistence. The current crisis phenomena
and the associated democratic fatigue repeatedly call into question the relevance of art and culture and necessitate a new
conceptualisation of cultural policy concerns.
Renowned authors from all over Europe are attempting to revitalise
the cultural policy discourse and provide answers to pressing questions about the future. As cultural policy actors, art universities
have a central role to play in this process in order to act as an innovative force in society. The mostly essayistic contributions
are aimed not only at the academic community, but also at a broader public interested in current cultural policy issues.
