Linz Art Funding Award 2025 for Noor Stenfert Kroese

28. November 2025
The University of Applied Arts Vienna is delighted to announce the recent award won by Noor Stenfert Kroese, lecturer in the Art & Science department. Together with artist Amir Bastan, she was honoured with the City of Linz Art Funding Award 2025 in the category Design, New Media and Communication.

From the perspective of the Angewandte, this award is a special recognition not only of the artistic work of the two prize winners and their contribution to the further development of a critically reflective, interdisciplinary media practice. In its statement, the jury highlighted the artists' consistent and innovative engagement with the technical realities of the present. Particular praise was given to the breadth of their work, which spans a variety of themes, materials and formats, thereby contributing to the cultural landscape of the city of Linz.

The jury also emphasised the importance of their work in research and teaching – both at the University of Art and Design Linz and at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Their commitment to knowledge transfer, experimental methods and supporting students in interdisciplinary contexts is a central part of their practice.

The University of Applied Arts Vienna congratulates on this award!
