28. April
2022
From May, the AIL will open with Café Exchange (former Kassenhalle, cashier's hall) with
a renovated, expanded space, a new name and a fresh programme. After 8 years as the Angewandte Innovation Lab, it's time for
a fresh start that focuses on the AIL's credo, approach and work.
As Angewandte Interdisciplinary Lab, it continues to
be a space and platform for projects at the intersection of art, science and artistic research.
From
now on, the AIL will be even more dedicated to a lively discourse, the development of cross-disciplinary projects, different
fields of knowledge and also connects partner institutions from the fields of science, art, design and research with the resources
of the applied arts. With the Café Exchange, the AIL offers a variety of formats such as exhibitions, symposia, roundtable
discussions as well as workshops or performances on central topics and negotiates future-oriented questions in the field of
art and science.
With the Café Exchange (former Kassenhalle, cashier hall), the AIL presents not only an
expanded and diversified programme, but also a new venue,
where you can have your daily dose of exquisite coffee and
delicacies - created by Alexander Afrough.
You may call it the reinvention of the Viennese salon, we think these times
call for a public place that encourages you to think outside the box - a space where people meet, put their heads together,
get in touch and exchange ideas, thoughts, knowledge, visions and utopias.
