TransArts – Marie Reichel: Undichte Dinge z.B.

Marie Reichel's lecture ‘Undichte Dinge z.B.’ examines media transformation procedures of sculptural processes
in a thought experiment.
Based on the concept of the palimpsest – a parchment that has been written on and scraped off
several times – the idea of the glitch as a productive disturbance is introduced.
In her media
translations, deliberately induced disturbances are created that open up new perspectives. These transmissions are seen as
part of the sculptural process and can provide additional insights. Reichel argues in favour of an expanded understanding
of sculptural processes that includes media translations as a productive part of artistic practice.
