What do toast
and eggs have to do with Gertrude Stein and the last Tsar of Russia? The exhibition “Small Breakfast – Toast with Egg” invites
you to the table: Here, we encounter objects such as a rotating tattooed ostrich egg in an oversized egg cup or a toast house
with words engraved on it.
The exhibition space is reminiscent of the Viennese coffeehouse culture,
where politics and culture have always been common topics of conversation. The works, which result from a collaborative effort
between designer Alice Klarwein and text artist Ines Frieda Försterling, are meant to inspire similar discussions. Upon closer
inspection of these humorously designed objects, one will find plenty of coffeehouse conversation material. Luckily, just
like in a coffeehouse, there are also chairs at the exhibition tables.
