#Ukraine − Migration and
                                          Art
The western border of Ukraine can be reached from Vienna by car within only 6 hours.Closeness is a community space which gives insights into works of Ukrainian artists and students who have been
facing unprecedented artistic, personal and geopolitical challenges since 2014 due to the ongoing russian aggression and occupation
and, since February 2022, the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. By bringing together and communicating different experiences,
we are trying to reduce the constructed distance to the ongoing catastrophe which is happening much closer than it is regularly
                                          perceived.

Due to the full-scale russian invasion
of Ukraine more than 12 million people were forced to leave their homes.

In search of
a connection with our new reality, we invite the audience to a staged process that constantly deconstructs the temporary home
through private stories of fleeing. We are driven by a collective sense of urgency, in which we hope to develop new methods
of creative work and strategies for different ways of support in the time of war.
