the human body to science. Today, De Humani Corporis Fabrica opens the human body to cinema. It shows that human flesh is
an extraordinary landscape that exists only through the gaze and attention of others. As places of care, suffering and hope,
hospitals are laboratories that connect all people in the world.
Castaing-Taylor and Paravel are anthropologists
and filmmakers at Harvard University's Sensory Ethnography Lab, where they have researched French hospitals and patients'
bodies. Caesarean birth, prostate surgery, screwing together a spine: less an immersive than an invasive film experience,
direct and bloody, but not without sensitivity and dry humour. (Lars Penning)

Dion McGregor, whose hallucinatory, obscene and sadistic dreams were recorded by his roommate in New York over a seven-year
period in the 1960s.
A spectrum of ghosts and demons - serene and hallucinatory, shameless and whimsical, evil
and wise - splay out as McGregor sleeps. His dreams run the gamut of our emotions and are thus a cartography of our sleeping
selves, when the brain is free to spin its yarn outside our daytime regime of consent and compulsion.
