TransArts - Huda Takriti: NOTES FOR AN ARCHIVE

An event organised by TransArts - Transdisciplinary Art

Huda Takriti explores the gaps in historical memory by merging personal and national narratives and generating questions around them. In this lecture, she will be drawing from her current research on the availability and nonavailability of archives relating to female freedom fighters from the Middle East in times of armed anti-colonial struggle. The first half of the lecture will take the shape of a performance layering and overlapping Texts, archival images, and media footage as a quest to reflect on gender, nationhood and concealed histories.
Huda Takriti is currently pursuing a PhD in practice with the Academy of Fine Art in Vienna. She completed her Master studies at the TransArts department at University of Applied Arts Vienna in 2020. Most recently, she was awarded the Vordemberge-Gildewart Award (2022), the Kunsthalle Prize (2020), WHW Akademija Fellowship (2022), and the Camargo Foundation Fellowship (2023) among others.
