The University of Applied Arts' Angewandte
Interdisciplinary Lab
Artistic work is the foundation for knowledge production and the productive
engagement with existing forms of knowledge, similar to those previously developed in other established research areas. By
building a suitable institutional framework, the University of Applied Arts’ goal is to generate innovative knowledge output
in the arts and artistic research field and to promote these results in a national and international science context. Meanwhile,
the definition of scientific research is based on the understanding of an unbiased and open knowledge production process –
anything is possible.
Lange Nacht der Forschung (The Long Night of Sciences) gives us the chance
to present current projects and invite you to be part of the science! Arts and sciences help us replace the old with the new,
thereby creating alternative perspectives and transformations – we approach, position and reflect in a joint process. Things
come out differently on the other side. Meanings change, positions change, change transforms, signification changes.
The
meeting of art and science – whether in the form of artistic works or artistic and scientific research – always holds the
potential of creating something unforeseen. Speculating, challenging and facing those challenges; we're all in! We hope this
night will change the way we think. There will only be one question: 'Have all dice already been cast?'

on individual positions and approaches that illustrate how art can change the way we perceive and understand the world!
