Critical issues of censorship in Cuba bring artists and curators together with human
rights experts to discuss the shrinking space for artistic freedom on the island. Taking Decree 349 as a starting point, the
panel will focus on the legal frameworks for expression, artist-led movements for artistic freedom in Cuba, and the danger
of imprisonment for those who participate. The discussion will also explore strategies for securing artistic freedom
within
and outside Cuba, and the needs of Cuban artists as they continue the fight for human rights on the ground.
