Students from the Fashion Department
at the University of Applied Arts Vienna will present their work from the current academic year on Tuesday 2 June 2026 at
7.30 pm – the event will also feature the final collections of six graduating students.
Since October 2023, the Fashion Class has been led by Professor Craig Green. In his teaching, the British designer
takes an experimental, concept-driven approach to design and encourages students to “develop their own style by questioning
norms, exploring material processes and understanding fashion as both a form of discourse and self-expression”.
International
expert jury assesses final collections: This year, six final-year students are completing their studies at the University
of Applied Arts. As part of their final-year project, they will face the judgement of an international expert jury. In addition
to the university’s internal jury, the Fashion Class thus offers its graduates further feedback and an assessment by: Francesca
Gavin (curator, London), Lutz Huelle (fashion designer, Paris), Paul Toner (journalist, 10 Magazine, London), Serge Carreira
(Head of the Emerging Brands Initiative at the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, Paris), Alexander Krantz (designer
and image director, MM6 Maison Martin Margiela) and Youwie Roes (Creative Talent Manager, Eyes on Talents, Paris).
The
six designers in this graduating class are: Alisa Tegin, Benedikt Götz, Felix Schmidt, Jara Dilara Noori, Alara Koçman and
Linda Bergstötter.
The students have the chance to win the WIEN MITTE The Mall Award, worth €3,000. Centre Manager
Florian Richter: “Vienna is bursting with creative energy – you just have to give it the right space. Through our collaboration
with the Fashion Class at the University of Applied Arts and the fashion show on 2 June, we at WIEN MITTE The Mall are sending
a strong message: we don’t just want to watch young talent, we want to actively support it. Supporting the next generation
strengthens the cultural diversity of this city. It is precisely this vibrant exchange that defines our centre.”
In
addition, two Fred Adlmüller scholarships, each worth €2,000, will be awarded this year to students in the Fashion Class.
The Fred Adlmüller Scholarship commemorates the eminent Austrian fashion designer Fred Adlmüller (1909–1989), who was a defining
figure in fashion at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. With his artistic vision and international outlook, he influenced
generations of students during the 1970s through his professorship at the Angewandte and made a significant contribution to
the development of the Fashion Class. The scholarship recognises outstanding artistic achievement and supports students in
their further development.
The Fashion Class 2026 Show will be streamed live on YouTube
and via Instagram @dieangewandte. It starts at 7.30 pm.
