"O Meu Caminho" is much more than an
autobiography – it is an artfully crafted historical document that brings together the moving stations of a life in an impressive
and compelling form. The idea for this extraordinary work originated with Fabian Draxl and Michael Plessl, together with Bernardo
Vortisch, who spent many hours listening to the stories of the protagonist.
The book paints a unique portrait of a life
shaped by historical upheavals and creative passion: from the grandfather, founder of the Habsburg laundry, persecuted by
the Nazis; to the mother, who fell in love with a Portuguese man – the author's father – while fleeing; to a childhood in
Vienna, the failed attempt to produce a film about Egon Schiele, and the later successful career in film distribution, which
was abruptly cut short, followed by the rebuilding and founding of one of the most successful commercial film production companies.
With
the founding of Film Factory, which over three decades created influential commercials for brands such as Milka, Ottakringer,
Aktion Mensch, and XXXLutz, as well as more than 20 years of teaching at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, a vibrant
and creative life is reflected in this work – crafted with great care, depth, and attention to detail.
"This
book is my personal path – a journey through memories, fractures, and new beginnings. I hope readers will find themselves
in these stories and perhaps even discover the courage to follow their own path."
