The book 10 Years 2011-2020 - Istanbul Rotary Art Award Competition and Exhibition, was published in English and Turkish. Edited by Senova, the book documents the project over a period of ten years, following a nearly two-year preparation period—from selection committees to selected artworks, applications, exhibitions to content produced, and published books series to various awards. The diverse perspectives of the actors of this process have been included both in texts and interviews; the artworks and exhibitions are presented with visuals. The book features 39 artists, their artistic research, and production. Apart from the texts from the presidents of Istanbul Rotary and the selection committee members, two critical views from the outside have also contributed to the book: While Esra Aliçavuşoğlu discusses the development of competitions in the field of art in Turkey, Evrim Altuğ focuses on the processes of research and exhibition. His text is followed by a short interview with Senova, who has been the curator of the Istanbul Rotary Art Award Competition and Exhibition for ten years. Moreover, through a consistent lineage of application and development processes, exhibitions, and the publication of a book series, edited also by Senova over 10 years, this book also demonstrates how the Istanbul Rotary Art Award Competition and Exhibition has evolved into the Istanbul Rotary Art Fund, which aims to support artists who produce research-based, long-term projects. The book indexes all the actors, venues, and awards in these 10 years, along with the artist names who have merited inclusion in the book series. The book gives an insight about the current aspects of contemporary art in Turkey through new generation artists.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Basak Senova, Visiting Professor at Art and Communication Practices, University of Applied Arts Vienna, runs the “Octopus Programme” and has edited two extensive publications that have recently been published.
