Recap: Exhibition Opening "Fernheilung"

22. October 2025
With the opening of the exhibition Fernheilung [Distant Healing] on 15 October, the celebrations marking the 45th anniversary of the collection of the Angewandte began. Brigitte Felderer (Vice-Rector for Studies, Teaching and Diversity), Cosima Rainer (Head of Art Collection and Archive), and curator Robert Müller together with Helmut Draxler opened the exhibition, which is dedicated to the artistic scene in Vienna during the decade in which the collection was founded.
Fernheilung. The 1980s and Early 1990s Through a Distorted Lens brings together works from the milieu of the former Hochschule, documents, and selected loans to trace key events, exhibitions, artistic movements, and discursive formations, revealing their interconnections.

The exhibition is on view at the University Gallery of the Angewandte at Heiligenkreuzerhof until 31 January 2026. On 21 November and 13 December, Robert Müller and Helmut Draxler invite visitors to join their curator’s tours.
