Voltaire Art Prize 2024 awarded to Rosa Andraschek

23. January 2025
The visual artist Rosa Andraschek has been named as the winner of the 2024 Voltaire Art Prize for artists under 35 years of age. She is honoured for her interest in an expanded concept of photography in connection with landscape and nature, as well as contemporary history. One of her main concerns is to show sites associated with the Nazi era that are no longer identifiable as such today.
In contrast to official war memorials or places of remembrance, Rosa Andraschek seeks to make the concealed presence visible again. She is concerned with those rather anonymous landscape structures that are spread throughout Austria and are removed from general historical memory.

The Voltaire Art Prize is awarded to primarily creative artists, alternating between the fields of visual arts, literature and music. The target group are artists up to the age of 35.
