Memorial fire as a sign against violence

In memory of the victims of the horrific attack on November 2, 2020, the University of Applied Arts Vienna will again light a fire in 2022 as a recurring symbol against violence and for peaceful coexistence.

In girum imus nocte et consumimur igni
We enter the circle at night and are consumed by fire. 

Just like this phrase, which has no beginning and no end, we walk in a circle. We walk and give the body a memory. We walk together although we experience time and space individually. We walk and share our sorrow. We walk and share a beginning.

The fire at Oskar-Kokoschka-Platz will burn on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 10am to 7pm.
