Rectorate's Appeal to Vaccination

09. September 2021
Dear students,
dear lecturers,
dear staff members,

First of all, we would like to thank you for your great commitment and support of the Corona measures during the last three semesters! This made it possible, during the time when access to Covid vaccinations was very limited, for university operations to run as smoothly as possible.
The new winter semester starts at the beginning of October and in the meantime, thanks to the vaccination offer, full immunization is possible without any problems for all people living in Austria. Therefore, we are very happy that - thanks to the possibility of vaccination, the compliance with 3G rules and the experiences of the last months - we can now reopen the Angewandte in its entirety for attendance. We are thus returning to the discursive and open university as we know and need it.

If you still belong to the group of unvaccinated persons, and if a vaccination is possible for you, please consider that a high vaccination rate in the university is the best defense against new restrictions - especially in view of the currently again strongly rising infection numbers.
We are aware that this is a sensitive, highly personal decision. Nevertheless, please allow us to point out the  fragile situation and to ask for renewed consideration. We want to leave no stone unturned in order to ensure that studies can continue as unrestrictedly as possible on site.

With best regards,
Gerald Bast, Bernhard Kernegger, Barbara Putz-Plecko, Eva Maria Stadler and Maria Zettler
