12. March 2021
Dear University
Members,
The premises of our university have now been filled with life again , and this was and
is only possible because all those involved have worked together in an incredibly solution-oriented and constructive manner
- motivated by the common goal of being able to work on site again with the new possibilities (Teststraße) and requirements
(carrying a negative test confirmation).
We would like to thank all
of you, teachers, students and general staff, very much for this joint act of strength and trust, which was a considerable
challenge, especially for the artistic departments, in addition to the parallel admission examinations, which were largely
handled online for the first time.
The Angewandte in the Easter holidays
Building
on the great acceptance for the current COVID mode, the university buildings will remain open during the Easter break (March
29 - April 9, 2021) from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays (excluding Good Friday). Our Teststraße will offer reduced operations
(Mon-Thurs 8am-12pm as well as 2pm-6pm; Fri 8am-12pm; excluding Good Friday).
The studios in the artistic
departments can remain open with the respective security concepts (taking into account the reduced staff resources during
the break); in addition, the health checker rounds will be intensified during this period.
An encounter of
persons without a valid negative test confirmation within studio rooms during the Easter vacations will result in an immediate
suspension of the on-site activity in this department for the remaining time of the Easter vacations (an information about
the closure will be sent to the respective department management).
New PCR test opportunity
"Wien – Alles gurgelt!"
As of now, the Angewandte is participating in the pilot project "Wien – Alles gurgelt!".
In addition to the already existing test offers, it will be possible for staff members (from now on) as well as for students
(from the end of March) to perform a PCR gargle test (with higher reliability than antigen tests) several times a week. For
this, it is necessary to register online with a code provided by Angewandte. After registration, two PCR gargle tests per
person (max. 8 per household) can be collected weekly from any BIPA branch. Gargling is done at home, the sample must then
be returned to a BIPA store. A test result (incl. a laboratory confirmation) will be provided within 24 hours after delivery
and will be accepted at the Angewandte as well as at other public places. More info including code will follow from the Covid
staff office.
Outlook
As previously announced, the current
Corona regulations at Angewandte will be thoroughly evaluated in the second half of April and updated as necessary, especially
with regard to weekend opening hours and events. Until then, the current regulations and the Teststraße will remain in effect
in any case.
With our best wishes for relaxing Easter days,
Gerald Bast, Bernhard
Kernegger, Barbara Putz-Plecko, Eva Maria Stadler and Maria Zettler
