The University of Applied Arts Vienna is looking for a Senior
Artist (m/f/d, 10 hours a week, fixed-term contract until September 30, 2029) for the department of Architectural
Design 1, starting 3. August 2026.
The department is seeking a candidate with extensive experience in architectural
practice and artistic design instruction who will actively contribute to the studio’s ongoing work, with a focus on project
development across various scales - from concept to detailing.
Employment requirements:
• Completed,
professionally qualifying degree in architecture (Master)
• Several years of university teaching experience in architectural
design
• Demonstrable, solid practical professional experience from design through implementation
• Good spoken
and written German language skills, English language skills at level C1 (teaching language English)
• On-site presence
and teamwork in Vienna
Area of Responsibility
• Independent teaching and conducting
courses
• Supervising and mentoring student projects
• Developing and promoting the arts
• Organizational
and administrative tasks
Qualifications:
• Teaching experience in overseeing the
design of residential building projects
• Demonstrable professional expertise and an interest in urban issues within
the scope of the architectural discipline
• Expertise in gender and diversity issues
• Organisational and social
skills
• Flexibility and adaptability
The monthly minimum wage for the position is currently € 944,03
gross (14 times a year, based on 10 hours per week) and can be increased accordingly by considering job-specific previous
experience in accordance with the collective agreement for universities (B1, salary scheme for academic/artistic university
staff).
