Design Revolution Now! – A Designer's Toolbox for Revolution

Going beyond mere documentation, Design Revolution Now! shows the new understanding of roles among a young generation of designers and, as a result, the need to fundamentally reform design education at the Angewandte. Thirteen posters featuring tools for the design revolution, developed by a temporary collective of designers and artists from the University of Applied Arts Vienna, will be on display. The back sides show personal statements by the participants reflecting on the necessity of a design revolution.
The exhibition is based on a publication with the same title. Designed in the style of a fanzine, the publication presents different methods used in the working process of designers under the umbrella term of "tools", which are questioned and placed in new contexts. The contributions were developed and exhibited at the invitation of Vienna Design Week 2024.
