With
students of Transmedia ArtsThe exhibition Soft Machine by Jakob Lena Knebl and Ashley Hans
Scheirl at Phileas in Vienna takes place on the occasion of their current show at the Austrian Pavilion at the 59th International
Art Exhibition La biennale di Venezia.
For the first time, Jakob Lena Knebl
and Ashley Hans Scheirl join Phileas to expand the Austrian Pavilion in Venice with a satellite show in Vienna.
Phileas
is an independent philanthropic organization and important partner for the realization of the exhibitions in the Austrian
Pavilion at the Venice Biennale.
The first show in the Phileas exhibition space will feature
parts of the installation Soft Machine by Ashley Hans Scheirl and Jakob Lena Knebl from Venice. In addition, the
artists will share this stage with their students from the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the Academy of Fine Arts
Vienna.
The Transmedia Arts class of Jakob Lena Knebl will start with two exhibitions in which
all students will take part in turn, in the spirit of the collaborative approach that the artists have chosen for their project
in Venice.
A rich and lively program of public events, ranging from a film screening, the presentation of the Biennale
Magazine and a panel discussion to a concert, will accompany the exhibition.
