Before
the University of Applied Arts moved into the Vordere Zollamtstraße 7, it was Vienna’s biggest refugee camp from 2015 until
2016. During that time the Café VoZo was built and run by refugees, students and volunteers and quickly became the heart of
the social life of the camp.
I would like to invite you to my constructed memory
of a day in the Café VoZo, where memory is a space that one can’t enter but that seeps through the door gap. The smell of
coffee and cake. Conversation snippets. Music. Sounds of the Café VoZo.
