Werque
Exhibition on the occasion of viennacontemporary
Students of Painting and Animated Film (Judith Eisler) presents
their work at the austrian Artfair viennacontemporary.
The word “werque” is a slang term derived
from the word “work”. It is used to signal approval for an attitude, an effort, or an outcome.
The presented
paintings and film highlight students’ interest in describing tools or aspects of work as subject matter. The immediate physicality
of the paintbrush, fragmented aspects of borrowed internet material, the arena of possibility in the studio space, and the
omniscient view offered by a crane, all represent possible approaches to seeing and doing.
