Guest
lecture by Esther Straganz, hosted by the department TransArts
Esther Straganz' artistic practice unfolds
most effectively in collective contexts. From Girls on Horses—an artist collective that explored socio-political performances
and their resonance in society—to the Burschenschaft Hysteria, Straganz prefers to develop provocative narratives that take
shape in exhibitions, festivals, and protest actions.
In this lecture, Esther Straganz takes
us into the world behind selected projects and offers suggestions on how to form a gang, how to become one together, and why
music is important in this process.
Esther Straganz's interdisciplinary practice combines visual
communication with performative and collaborative approaches.
In her work, which moves at the intersection of art and design,
she addresses the themes of the body, language, queerness, and anti-fascism.
