Michael Robert Jiménez: THRESHOLDS

A door suggests a passageway, a threshold. The starting point for the project is a bricked-up double door that once led to the TransArts studios. Michael Robert Jiménez's contribution, tacit, deals with the thresholds of the self — a surveillance camera and warning signs refer to the illusion of clear boundaries. This creates a digital interface between the enclosed space and the passing of time, generating an ambiguity between observation and control.
