Sophia
Süßmilch uses examples of her work and stories from her personal and artistic biography to report on the significance and
life-saving function that self-empowerment through artistic action can have.
But also the contradictions
and difficulties that arise from this. Sophia Süßmilch was born a German citizen in the last millennium and died in this one.
She studied sculpture and painting in Munich and Vienna. Süßmilch's work is multimedia and cross-genre; she paints oil paintings
to calm herself down and likes to be naked in her photographic and video works. She was recently awarded the Kunstfonds Bonn
2024 working grant. She is a feminist and is currently working on her first novel.
Süßmilch lives in Berlin.
