Work - Cycle - Body - covers
the first ten years of Barbis Ruder's artistic work. The publication bundles the cross-media works and thus illustrates the
complexity of her work through eleven work cycles. The artist's source material is her body, which she repeatedly places anew
in the eld of tension between emancipation and capitalism.
The introduction and texts by Madeleine Frey describe
the individual works and place them in their overall context. Accompanying this, the philosopher Lona Gaikis points out in
her essay the connection between subject and economy on the basis of Barbis Ruder's work. In his artistic and at the same
time subjective essay, the artist Peter Kozek conveys the genesis of the work.
