We look forward to seeing you there!
Bertrand Lamarche’s work is based on the amplification
and speculative potential of figures and objects that he regularly summons, using distortions of spatial or temporal scales.
Turntables, musical icons and structures, tornadoes, giant umbellifers, black holes, urban and industrial sites have been
part of his work for over 20 years. Much of his work is characterised by a desire to subjectivise these different elements
or figures of reality. Through modelling, the artist reinvests them and develops a set of proposals, sometimes vertiginous,
in the sense that they proceed from loops, that they stage abysses or proceed from a loss of spatio-temporal reference points
and distortion of scale.
The works are characterised by a resolutely empirical approach to the studio, using, among
other things, mechanics or video, from which the work emerges in its own process of realisation through successive phases
of experimentation. Bertrand Lamarche deploys a complex and diversified body of work, including installations, films,
performances, sculptures and sound works. His works can appear as occurrences or milestones of a more global fiction/scenario
affirming a permeability of the works between them.
