Show Modeklasse 2022

Show Modeklasse 22 will stage models and bodies as living installations, giving undivided attention to the designs of students and graduates. The show will be accompanied by the music of a classical philharmonic live orchestra. Lighting, choreography and live music will merge to celebrate the unique energy released when people come together.

The show offers students and graduates a unique opportunity to stage and present their creations in a professional setting and promotes the professionalization of a new generation of designers. The Department of Fashion of the Angewandte enjoys a high reputation both nationally and internationally.

First show under the direction of Grace Wales Bonner
The show 2022 will be the first under the direction of Grace Wales Bonner, who took over as head of the Department of Fashion at Angewandte in October 2020. Since the early 1980s, the fashion professorship has featured internationally successful designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Jil Sander, Vivienne Westwood, Helmut Lang, Raf Simons, Viktor&Rolf, Bernhard Wilhelm, Hussein Chalayan or – most recently – Lucie & Luke Meier.

Successful graduates
Angewandte is proud of the success of its fashion graduates: they often have their own labels, such as Bless, Wendy Jim, Petar Petrov, Sagan Vienna, Femme Maison and Kenneth Ize. No less often do they hold senior positions in the fashion industry or at renowned fashion houses such as Balenciaga, Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood, Prada, Maison Margiela or OAMC.

The four-year diploma program at Angewandte offers an individualized education that enables students to develop their artistic design style and realize their creative potential.
