Thorsen will introduce her recent exhibitions The Most Beautiful Aquisitions and Shards aswell as some works included in her
recent monograph Chalk Lines. She will talk about the methodology of her work, how she works with photographic documents and
in particular on the drawing and the line as central elements of her pratice.
Sofie
Thorsen born in 1971 in Denmark, lives and works in Vienna. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and
the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, she has shown her work internationally in numerous group and solo exhibitions.
She is currently an associate professor at Funen Art Academy in Odense, Denmark, and held a teaching position at the Academy
of Fine Arts in Vienna from 2005 to 2009. Her mostly installation-based work is dedicated to questions of perception, space,
cultural objects and their documentation. Currently her exhibition “Shards" is on view at Krobath Wien until 2.4.2022.
