Stepping Stone to Conserving Stones – Together to Safeguard Cultural Heritage

The Institute of Conservation, University of Applied Arts Vienna organises an online lecture series on step by step to stone conservation, together with its partner institution in India – Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi. Supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum of Embassy of the Republic of Austria, New Delhi, and the Eurasia Pacific Uninet, Vienna, this lecture series includes seven talks by the faculty of the Institute – Farkas Pinter, Marija Milchin, Martina Haselberger and Katharina Fuchs, as well as by experts from the Bundesdenkmalamt – Christoph Tinzl and Johann Nimmrichter.
The lecture series aims to deliver an understanding of stone as a material and its susceptibilities, to present the approach being followed in Austria to tackle the challenges, and to brainstorm how Austria and India could collaborate to advance in this domain.
