Paula explores VR’s potential
beyond its visual territory and explains how mixed reality objects can trigger an embodied cognition of being present at once
in physical and digital reality. By presenting a series of 1:1 interactive models and experimental installations, VR will
be discussed from a phenomenological perspective and examined for its potential to break the binary divide between actual
and virtual worlds, between reality and imagination.
Based between Amsterdam and Vienna, Paula
Strunden is an interdisciplinary designer and PhD researcher at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. She is the co-founder of
Soft Bodies and Virtual Fruits.
Ali uses
VR as a medium to imagine and create radical forms of space, time, and bodies. In this talk, Ali unpacks the thought process
behind making o 'False Mirror', a Long-term research project that speculates a growing world where humans (or post-humans)
live a completely virtual life.
