On day 1 I invite you to my studio, to talk and get to know each other.
In a first part, I will
share my experiences and work strategies in public space –
commissions, competitions, self-organization, models and visualizations,
realized
and unrealized efforts, logistics, bureaucracy etc.
For the second part, I ask every participant to propose
an element in public space in
Vienna that they want to talk about. It can be an artwork/artistic intervention, or
something that resembles an artwork. Something that communicates certain ideas to
the passers-by.
I will also
shortly elaborate about the object I choose, the Wien logo on
Schwarzenbergplatz and the strategies of public administrations
to address citizens.
In the course of the workshop, everyone should further work with that object/
situation.

On day 2 we will visit some or all of the proposed
places, and discuss their presence
and potential. We will talk about their agenda, their temporality, about ways of
documenting / preserving their memory as well as about ways of further adressing
their specifics through interventions
in situ or documentary means (image/sound/text,
etc.)
