Hans-Christian Dany: What do you do, all day long?

“Well, you can risk a lot in fashion because you don't have to speculate about the long-term.” I could never imagine
to quote Luhmann. That seemed almost as bad as quoting Habermas. But now it has happened and I think it is totally okay. And
it sums up why fashion is so attractive. Or why fashion is a possibility, when everything around is constantly changing. Art
seemed difficult to me for a long time, because I was less and less able to assimilate it with everything around me that was
changing all the time.
Maybe I was just too slow, at least in production. Or came from
a point of view that couldn't shift quickly. But did I want it to be different? Somewhere along the line I just let art go
and it didn't hurt at all. Now I dream about it and in the dream everything always goes very fast. In the last few years I've
been dealing with other things such as drugs that let you experience the world faster, cybernetic machines, gambling, and
fashion. That may sound a bit dandyesque, but I'm not a dandy at all, I think. And sooner or later, with all these detours,
I always come back to art. Do I possibly only move in circles? But what would be wrong with that? I will try to think aloud
about these questions and what all this might have to do with each other.
