Lecture Tuan Mami: GO FOR PERFORMANCE

Performer and visual artist TUAN MAMI (Vietnam) with his practice marks an example at the borders of "old school“ performance techniques and in connection with striking developments of contemporary performance art connected with social interventions and transdisciplinary approaches.
Without using a linear activist vocabulary his poetic actions and performance installations point with sharp precision on failures in the society texture of his home region. So his works deal with the destruction of nature and poisoning of whole areas caused by the extensive mining of minerals and the consequences for the local inhabitants or with the case of massive women trafficking organized and covered by the state are exemplary for his approaches. His works are based on longterm anthropological and sociological observations.

TUAN MAMI will hold a lecture on his work in the frame of GO FOR PERFORMANCE − urban matters of performer und choroegrapher Daniel Aschwanden. Afterwards Daniel Aschwanden and TUAN MAMI will discuss questions about approaches of contemporary performance.
