Hand to hand: A performance project in public space

Due date: 30. June 2026
Two artists born in Latin America are sought in the call for applications.
Hand to Hand is a public performance project exploring herbalist practices in relation to care, community-building, migration, and indigenous knowledge.

The project will take place two to three times in Vienna in the second half of 2026 and will involve a mobile cart inspired by the tradition of Peruvian emoliente vendors. Three performers will move through different districts, stopping at selected locations to offer a performance menu, drinks, and moments of exchange with passersby.

Who can apply
For this project, we are looking for two artists/art students who were born in Latin America and whose native language is Spanish.

The project has received pre-approval for partial funding. Participation as a performer includes a small fee paid on a Honorarnote basis.
