The Vienna Science and Technology Fund (WWTF) is funding research projects on the topic of “Digital Humanism”
as part of its Information and Communication Technology (ICT) 2026 priority area.
The
call for proposals is aimed at researchers in Vienna who are conducting interdisciplinary projects (2–4 years) at the interface
of information and communication technology (ICT) and the humanities, social sciences, cultural studies, and artistic research
(GSK). Funding will be provided for projects that examine digital technologies and practices from a human-centered and societal
perspective in the field of digital humanism.
A total of €5 million is available for this call. The
funding volume per project ranges from €350,000 to €700,000.
This call is a two-stage process:
- Deadline
for submitting short proposals: April 15, 2026, 2:00 p.m.
- Deadline for submitting full proposals (by invitation):
July 30, 2026, 2:00 p.m.
- The decision on funding is expected in December 2026.
