Call for applications 2026: Austrian Eurasia-Pacific Uninet (EPU)

Initial funding for bilateral and multilateral projects

The Eurasia-Pacific Uninet (EPU) was established in 2000 with the aim of creating an educational network for Austrian universities, universities of applied sciences, and other educational institutions in Central Asia, East Asia, and the Pacific region. 
It comprises a great number of international partners of all fields of research and supports projects in the areas of research, research-based teaching and art as well as technology cooperations. The projects are funded completely by funds of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Frauen, Science and Research (BMFWF). For the 2026 project year, researchers at Austrian EPU member institutions are invited to submit their applications. The project duration is one year (July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027).

Who can participate
Project proposals may only be submitted by researchers from Austrian universities, universities of applied sciences, and non-university research institutions that are members of the Eurasia-Pacific Uninet (EPU).
Eligible participants include PhD/doctoral students and researchers at Austrian and foreign universities as well as non-university research institutions that are members of the EPU. The call is open to all scientific disciplines (incl. the arts).
