01 raisins in the π pie is presented as a counterconcept
to what has long characterized digital art: disembodiment and dematerialisation. Binary code is here correlated to global
ressources and rituals.
As an irrational and transcendental parameter, πwill forever be
an object of mathematical research; even its „normality“ is in dispute: the decimal places known as 0 and 1 seem to occur
irregularly without following any pattern, being absorbed like raisins in a pie. In the installation the binaries are wrapped
by the permanence of the πcircuit and embedded into its seriality.
The austrian artist-couple PRINZpod is working
together since 1984. Their main fields are experimental architecture, design, film and photography. They also work with installation,
text, drawing, objects and painting and use those medias to transform the phenomenons of everyday life into their converse.
